Christina DiStefano is an interdisciplinary artist whose work investigates the process of becoming—not becoming someone else, but becoming more fully ourselves.

Across photography, painting, video, writing, installation, and her advisory practice (CD-DA), each body of work begins with a research question rather than a predetermined conclusion. Together, these investigations explore attention, perception, transformation, identity, integration, and becoming.

Rather than treating each medium as a separate discipline, DiStefano approaches each as a different form of investigation. Her work examines how perception shapes identity, how transformation unfolds through creative practice, and how the environments we inhabit—both internal and external—influence who we become.

After studying art and working in galleries in New York, DiStefano's trajectory shifted unexpectedly following the 2008 financial crisis. She went on to build a successful career in luxury real estate development, spending more than fourteen years helping shape some of New York City's most significant residential projects.

Looking back, she no longer sees those years as separate from her artistic practice.

They became another medium through which the same inquiry continued.

Today, her work exists at the intersection of contemporary art, architecture, culture, and research. Through her ongoing project, 365, she documents—in real time—the ongoing practice of becoming after leaving corporate life, treating YouTube, writing, conversation, photography, and advisory work as interconnected forms of artistic investigation.

Her practice is grounded in a simple proposition:

The artist does not disappear because the medium changes. The medium changes because the inquiry asks something different.
